I can’t believe I haven’t watched The Big Allotment Challenge until tonight! Need to find a way to catch up further on demand.
I was working from home today so popped up to No.27 to do some measuring before ordering 3m x 25m of weed membrane which will arrive next week. Met my next plot neighbours whilst I was there, the ladies seemed lovely and very happy that the plot was finally getting some well needed TLC 🙂
Back home and work done so I popped into the garden and harvested some more of my first ever container grown carrots ready for my lunch tomorrow. I do love the different colours with these varieties and the excitement of pulling them up. Will definitely be trying these at No.27 next year.

Your carrots look amazing, what variety are the dark purples ones?
Thank you, I am really pleased with them for a first attempt, especially as a lot of people seem to of had trouble with carrots this year. They are either Cosmic Purple or Purple Sun, I sowed both varieties at the same time and forgot which container had which.
Well done with your carrots. They are not the easiest thing to grow.
