Bank Holiday Bliss

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, my allotment has certainly been my escape and happy place over the holidays.
I managed an hour on Boxing day morning, followed by a full morning today as soon as the sun was up.

My dad joined me today on the plot, for me there is something special about having 1-2-1 time with my dad, I have loved it since I was a child.
We made a great team, he dug and I weeded which led to double quick speed and lots of progress! I am now up to a 4 1/2 x 2m bed 🙂

Plan going forward:
That’s my 3m x 2m bed done and ready for potatoes and carrots.
Next step is take the bed all the way up to the top and also out to 3m wide so I can make some single 3m x 1m wide beds with a woodchip path in the middle.

Not sure if I have mentioned in previous posts but my aim for my first year at No.27 is to focus on getting the right hand side of my plot ready for Spring then the shed watertight and looking like a home from home.
I am going to leave the left hand side covered probably for the whole first year and/or until I am comfortable and confident with looking after the first half.

I finally feel like I am making progress and actually might get half the plot ready in time for Spring.
