I said in my last blog post all around Prescribed Gardening, that I had some very exciting news to share soon and I am finally able to share it with you all now…
I am beyond delighted and truly honoured to announce that I have been appointed as an Ambassador for Thrive, the incredible charity which changes lives through the power of gardening.
Many of you will already know that I have been a huge supporter of Thrive, ever since I found out about the charity. Regularly visiting their local Beech Hill (Reading) site, show gardens and spreading the message of their inspirational work and ways to get help. For if I had known about their skills, passion and ability to change lives, at my lowest point of mental ill-health I would have definitely contacted them and asked for help.
So now to be asked to become an official Ambassador alongside Mark Lane and David Domoney, truly is an honour and a dream come true. Bringing my true passion and understanding, as well as flying the female flag.
Attending and judging the recent Flower Show at their Beech Hill Centre was my first visit as an official ambassador and wow, what a day it was. I can’t help but get choked up every time I visit and I never want to leave. If I could honestly spend every day doing what the teams at Thrive do then I would and one day I will.
Creating my own social enterprise, working with government and getting truly involved on a regular basis with Thrive will enable me to live that dream.
Thrive and I have lots of plans in place already and more to be made over the coming months and years so will keep you posted.
