Therapy Garden Superstar
“In June 2020, I was put on Furlough from my job, I was working from my sisters house up to that point and for many reasons wanted to stay in Towcester, but could not face staying in doors indefinitely, with only housework to look forward to! I needed something to occupy my time and stay active. My sister came across Annabelle’s call for volunteers and I jumped at the chance. Helping others is the best way to help yourself and I’ve loved spending time at the allotment. I’ve been cooked in the sun, soaked in the rain and I look forward to being frozen when winter arrives. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces when the seeds they planted grow and then their harvest is such a reward. “
“I’ve worked in marketing for 6 years now, and decided I wanted to put my skills to a good cause and volunteer. I came across Life at no.27 online, and just loved the ethos. I love being outside in nature – walking my dog, running, strolling around country parks and beaches – and have personally experienced how it can improve your mental health. Anything I can do to help improve the reach and awareness of the charity, I will gladly take on!”
Gardener and Logistics Hero!
“I joined Life at No.27 to give myself the opportunity to meet new, like-minded people and to help others. The great thing about being part of the team is, I get to do both of those things whilst gardening, which I love.
I think its great to be involved with a charity doing such great work within mental health.
I’m a married mum of two wonderful boys. I love spending time outdoors, walking, tending my garden & allotment at home and looking after my chickens. I’m a keen cook and really enjoy eating out and trying new food.”
