In the last year, I have recruited an incredible team of volunteers and I would love to finally introduce you to everyone! This month, meet Chrissie – our therapy garden superstar!

Chrissie is based at our Towcester therapy garden every week; transforming the garden, making everyone smile, providing support and bringing in surprise doughnuts for all! She has been with us since opening and is utterly phenomenal!

Chrissie explains below why she chose to volunteer with Life at No.27 and how she is finding the experience:

“In June I was put on Furlough from my job, I was working from my sisters house up to that point and for many reasons wanted to stay in Towcester, but could not face staying in doors indefinitely, with only housework to look forward to! I needed something to occupy my time and stay active. My sister came across Annabelle’s call for volunteers and I jumped at the chance.

Helping others is the best way to help yourself and I’ve loved spending time at the allotment. I’ve been cooked in the sun, soaked in the rain and I look forward to being frozen when winter arrives.

Seeing the smiles on people’s faces when the seeds they planted grow and then their harvest is such a reward.”
