Prince and Princess of Wales visit upcoming site

Can’t actually believe I’m writing this… on Tuesday this week, 28th February, the Prince and Princess of Wales came to visit our upcoming therapy allotment site and launch the collaboration between their charity; the Royal Foundation and Life at No.27. The Royal Highnesses and their charity have chosen to partner with us and help us to achieve our long term ambition to scale up our unique services. Creating therapy allotments and gardens to support mental health and wellbeing in communities!

It was the most surreal, wonderful and overwhelming morning that I will cherish forever. I’m really excited to see how the partnership progresses over the coming months and years, and what we can create together.

Alongside British Airways, the Royal Foundation are also the ‘was’ secret match funder on our Crowdfunder campaign, so they will be matching every donation you or your network gift us, up to the value of £10,000!

Amanda Berry OBE, Chief Executive Officer of The Royal Foundation said:

“Their Royal Highnesses are passionate about creating a lasting impact in the communities they visit, playing an instrumental role in bringing together local stakeholders to amplify the work of organisations, and ensure support reaches those who need it most.

“We are absolutely delighted that the visit to Brynawel Rehabilitation Centre and collaboration with social enterprise, Life at No.27 will mark the second in a series of community impact pilots from The Royal Foundation.

We are really pleased to be working with Life at No.27 and supporting its mission to help communities across South Wales.”

My initial thoughts:
“It’s an honour to have the support and partnership of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales with Life at No.27. As the founder, I have seen first-hand how working with therapy gardens can dramatically improve self-belief and your own mental health.

Our unique therapy allotments and gardens are vital as they offer a safe environment for those experiencing mental ill health, to process and explore difficult experiences with trained therapists whilst at the same time learning new skills. We are also able to offer children and adults therapeutic opportunities to grow in confidence, resilience and self-belief, whilst experiencing positive human connection, contact with nature, sensory play and restorative conversation.

Working with The Prince and Princess of Wales is so important as their support enables us to collaboratively raise awareness of the work we do and the growing vital need.”
